Skin Fungus or Ringworm?

Fungus Infected Toes! (Warning: Language)
Is Skin Fungus Different than Ringworm?
The short answer to that question is: No, skin fungus is not different that Ringworm. They are both the same thing at the source. But the long answer, is that they ARE different because of their symptoms.
You see, everyone has fungus on their skin and in their body. But there are several varieties of fungi (many harmless) that can manifest different symptoms in different individuals. All, however, are contagious, and if you are vulnerable to them, you can develop serious symptoms. The drug industry, however is happy to give each manifestation a separate name, not to confuse us, but because new names equals new drugs.
Look at any anti-fungal cream for nails. Most of them will say on the package "also effective against Athlete's Foot!" or "also relieves RingWorm!". They know that it is all the same and they are still happy to make one products for each anyways. I'm not endorsing these drugs or using them in a different way than their package suggests; I'm simply exposing the fact that all the names and medications out there are simply masking an obvious truth: That most fungal ailments are the same!
Wikipedia writes: "A number of different species of fungi cause ringworm. Dermatophytes of the genera Trichophyton and Microsporum are the most common causative agents. These fungi attack various parts of the body and lead to the following conditions:
Dermatophytosis
- Tinea pedis (athlete's foot) affects the feet
- Tinea unguinum affects the fingernails and toenails
- Tinea corporis affects the arms, legs, and trunk
- Tinea cruris (jock itch) affects the groin area
- Tinea manuum affects the hands and palm area
- Tinea capitis affects the scalp
- Tinea barbae affects facial hair
- Tinea faciei (face fungus) affects the face"
Here we see, again, the same forces at work. The same little critters (Dermatophytes) can seemingly cause to many "different" diseases! What we're obviously dealing with is the fungus. Giving every condition a name only serves to confuse us. Get rid of the fungus, and you can cure a multitude of ailments!
Another common fungus is Yeast (Candidas Albicans) which occurs in largely in women and can result in anything from ringworm or eczema to severe eating disorders. Eliminating that fungi with an anti-fungal diet and a good evironment (check out my site for more info) may be all that's needed to cure any and all of that. And because these solutions are cheap and easy and cannot be branded (it's just food-items and common sense), the medical industry has little interest in these cures. But their track-record is far better than that of the drugs that come from the "professionals". Prescription drugs and off-the-shelf creams have a cure success rate of UNDER 20%! And they are harmful to your system. In contrast, many natural doctors who teach anti-fungal diets and treatments claim almost 100% success.
So don't let all the words get you confused, this is really not a complicated subject. Some good common sense and educated usage of some common household items may be all you need to eradicate your skin fungus!
Think well, and be well.

I completely agree with your observation. I have started my own page on Ringworm Treatment and I was amazed at how many different classifications there are for practically the same condition! Because the medical profession has different names for the same fungal infection that affects each different part of the body, regular folks get confused and come to the conclusion that these ailments are non-related and should be treated differently.
